Salvation Army Red Buckets Now Use Credit Card Machines
During the holiday seasons, you may be well familiar with the Salvation Army bell ringers. They position themselves in front of your local grocery stores, drug stores and department stores, holding red buckets, jingling a bell and silently asking you to give out donations. That will still be true this year, except the bell ringers added a new device to their cause which is “sharing is caring”; they will be adding a credit card processing machine. As an example, consider the Midland Mall in Midland, Texas. The Salvation Army in this mall and in other locations in the country now collect and process credit card payments. During Black Friday, according to Jim Heffel who manned a Salvation Army Red Bucket, the Midland Mall location collected around 90 dollars.
